I absolutely loved this beach session. What’s not to love?? Gorgeous family, beautiful sunlight, and some of the most cooperative kids ever. I mean, you know you’ve hit the jackpot when it’s the kids at the session telling you, “Can you take one of me with my baby brother? Can we take another one?” It was so much fun. Lots to share, so I’ll stop blabbing. π
I love this baby boy. I love his cute siblings. I love his awesome parents. So happy for their growing family! Here’s a picture overload of their lifestyle newborn session. π
So glad I got to be a part of this day. Much love to the newlyweds! Here are my favorites from their big day!
This bride and I have known each other since 4th grade. Holy memories!! Drinking kool aid at her house as 11 year olds, having crushes on the same guys as teenagers, moving to Salt Lake to go to college together (and then backing out after 3 days…*cough cough*…myfault), her being my maid of honor, me shooting her wedding…how’d we get so old?
This is part 1 of her wedding pictures, because I just have so many I want to share. Part 2 is coming soon and will have all my favorites!
When I had my own family photoshoot back in March, I stressed about how to dress all 6 people in my family. This mom had to dress 9. And she rocked it!
Quick story about this family. Right after I had my 4th baby, I was very sleep deprived and feeling overwhelmed about the task of taking care of a newborn, a monkey of a 2 year old, and keeping 5 and 6 year old boys entertained AND getting their school work done. It felt like a daunting task. In those early post partum weeks, an article in the local paper came out about this mom of 7 and how she keeps it together. My dad brought it over for me to read, and handed it to me saying, “If she can do it, you can do it.” It was sweet of him. Except I totally took it in the opposite way that he intended. I was like, “Oh my gosh, she can take care of SEVEN and I can’t handle FOUR! I’m a FAILURE!!!!!!!!!” Oh post partum hormones. I don’t miss you.
Anyway, don’t worry, I’ve got this now. π Four ain’t no thang. (Just kidding, four is hard. But it’s not. But it is…)
This family was lovely to work with and I’m so glad I got to meet them before they moved away! Momma Q, you are a rockstar!!
We had already cancelled once because of weather.Β He had ONE day off of work to get this session done. They had booked in advance. And then in rained. And rained and rained and didn’t stop for the whole session. But these guys were TROOPERS and decided to make the most of it. There’s a first time for everything, and shooting one handed while holding an umbrella with my other hand was a first for me during this shoot! But we made it happen and I’m so happy with what we got! I hope this family looks back on these with a smile! π
I only do a VERY limited number of weddings per year. In order for me to photograph your wedding you must A) be related to me, B) be friends with me since elementary school, or C) ask very nicely and catch me on a good month that isn’t already busy with other types of photoshoots. π I love the feeling in the air on someone’s wedding day and I love to capture families full of joy on such a special occasion. I just can’t do it ALL the time at this point in my life. Maybe one day!
These two fall into category A. This is my brother and his wife, married in May. Finally blogging it!
This wedding started out on the beach, at 3pm. In Florida. Thankfully, we were blessed with a nice breeze! It was a gorgeous day.
I shot many of these in full sun, which is not how I normally shoot, but I am thrilled with the variety we got. Many of the shots were planned by the bride. So glad I was able to help her bring her vision to life! Hope you cherish these forever, Sarah!
Good looking couple, right here!
My daughter loved the reception. She’s theΒ one dancing with her new aunt and putting a tiara on her uncle’s head.
Special thanks to 4 teenage boys who made this last shot possible. I tired them out pretty bad!
Ready for the longest picture post ever? This family is so beautiful, I had to share them all! I won’t take up space with words!
Hanging out with this family is always fun. I loved watching these grandparents (um, can I please look that way when I’m a grandma?) enjoying their grandson. He has quickly become the center of this family, that’s for sure! I was so happy that despite the rain threatening to come down on us and despite the change of location, we were able to capture what life is like for this awesome family right now.
Why is it that babies at the beach eat so much sand? I get that they’re curious enough to shove in a fistful the first time. But you would think that after getting that first taste, they would think, “Hmmm. Grainy. Not so yummy.” And stop doing it. But they just keep eating it. If they’re like my babies, they’ll eat it for the entirety of your beach trip. Perhaps they keep trying because they think, “Oh, this next one has got to be good!” If so, that’s dedication right there. That’s a don’t quit attitude if I’ve ever heard one.
Luckily, this little lady didn’t eat much sand at our shoot. She’s a smart one. π And adorable!!
