I keep waiting for it to wear off, but nope. Lifestyle newborn photography is still my favorite kind of shoot! Especially with a family as sweet as this one and a newborn as snuggly as this little guy. I loved getting to spend a few hours in this home recording these fleeting moments!
I loved photographing this teeny tiny boy at just 10 days old. He’s got two of the best big sisters around. Check out their last family pictures as a family of 4 and the cutest baby bump ever HERE.
Since Mr. Wide Awake wouldn’t sleep for us, his silly sisters offered to do it for him. Loved playing around with these funny girls!
I’ve said it many times and I’ll say it again: photographing newborns is my absolute favorite. I’ve loved newborn photography for a long time, but it took me awhile to find my style. I adore the beautifully posed and gorgeously styled newborn photos taken in a studio setting and I know many amazing photographers that do it well, both artistically and safely. However, when I discovered lifestyle newborn photography, I knew I had found my passion!
I’ve had 4 kids myself, so I know well what those early weeks with a newborn at home are typically a fog of sleep deprivation and figuring out your family’s new normal, while at the same time feeling like your heart might burst with love for this new little life that takes your breath away. In my lifestyle newborn photography, I strive to capture those early moments with your newborn in a way that will one day remind you of the most wonderful parts of those first weeks postpartum. I aim to photograph parents adoring their newborn, siblings in awe of their new little family member, as well as beautiful portraits of your baby in all his/her newborn glory. Tiny toes, little smiles, curious eyes, all of it! (Is it obvious how much I love this?) Contact me if you’re interested in this type of session!
I’ve rambled on enough! On to the photos of my latest lifestyle newborn session. These two are amazing, exemplary parents. I could feel the love in their beautiful home!
These people you are about to see are so very awesome. I’m so lucky I’ve gotten to be their photographer, not once, not twice, but three times. And even though the other times were super fun….they just can’t beat this time. Baby “I” takes the cake! She is so sweet and cuddly and amazing and I’m so glad I got to hold her for awhile and capture her tiny-ness and adorable-ness at this phase of her life! Here is an overload of pictures because I just couldn’t narrow them down. If someone out there knows how to rewind time, please contact me ASAP so I can go back in time and hire a lifestyle photographer to do my newborn photos. Thanks, guys.
I love this baby boy. I love his cute siblings. I love his awesome parents. So happy for their growing family! Here’s a picture overload of their lifestyle newborn session.
Ready for the longest picture post ever? This family is so beautiful, I had to share them all! I won’t take up space with words!
After meeting this cute couple at their maternity session, I was excited to see them in action as new parents when they came to my home studio. I love looking back on how I felt in those first few weeks as a first time mom to my oldest son. Everything is new, you are EXHAUSTED, and you’ve been peed on more times than you care to count. But you are in a little love bubble with your tiny little boy who looks like grumpy little old man. It’s awesome. Well, if these two were exhausted, it didn’t show! This little guy was so sweet and calm for his session. The colorful blankets were made by his grandma!
Photographing this sweet baby girl, a first born who arrived just in time for Christmas, brought me back to what it was like when my first was born. The first night home from the hospital I didn’t want my mom to leave. I thought, “What are we going to do without a magic button that brings a nurse to our room? What if I do something wrong??” My mom, full of good intentions, decided to tell me a lovely story. She said, “Don’t be so worried! Babies are very resilient! They’re not as breakable as you think. I heard a story about a woman who dumped her newborn baby in a river in a garbage bag. The baby was able to breathe through a hole and was crying and crying and someone heard it and rescued it and it survived!” I. started. bawling. “WHY WOULD YOU TELL A BRAND NEW HORMONAL MOTHER SUCH A HORRIBLE STORY???”
Hopefully no one has told this new mom anything like that. She’s doing great in this new role and makes motherhood look drop dead gorgeous. With a nurse for a mom and a cop for a dad, I’m positive that this baby girl is in great hands.
